Fitzwilliam Museum - Calligraphy Today 10 November 2012 – 13 January 2013 Enjoy the first ever exhibition of the Museum's sparkling collection of contemporary calligraphy acquired in 2008. The exhibition, featuring pieces in wide range of media, showcases the work of leading British and foreign artists inspired by the rich traditions and contemporary cultures of Europe, the Middle East, China and Japan. Thirty minute talks start at 7.15pm, followed by an opportunity to look through the historical Northumberland and Thorrowgood telescopes if the weather is clear. See the 2013 talk schedule. Further details The University of Cambridge Museums Shop - Now Open A vast assortment of items from all eight of Cambridge University's museums can be found at the new museum shop which opened this week. Stocking everything from Christmas cards and educational toys to exhibition collections and much more. The shop, in King's Parade, is open from 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays. Professor Simon Franklin, Lord Giddens, Professors Juliet Mitchell and Richard Sennett tell us what they understand by society and offer answers to the audience's questions. Tickets available online The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India Ball New Delhi, Saturday 8 December Alumni are invited to attend this charitable event at the Royal Belgian Embassy, New Delhi.
